Kolkata, 21 Feb 2020 : Mohun Bagan maintained pole position with a comfortable victory over Neroca FC thanks to a strong team performance. Kibu Vicuna’s team are all set to face off against title rivals Churchill Brothers in a crunch I-League match.

The Mariners turned on the style against Neroca FC to keep firm hold of pole position. Fran Glez struck a hattrick to move atop the scorers list.

Speaking to press in pre match conference Vicuna said, “It is only a football match. We will face the game with the same desire as other games. We know that Churchill are a good team with very good players and playing in their stadium is going to be a tough challenge for us”.

Churchill Brothers come into this match after consecutive victories over Real Kashmir & Aizawl FC. The two time I-League winners are ten points behind Mariners with a game in hand. Red Machines coach Bernardo Tavares had this to say to press, “It’s been a good run for us. The two wins against Aizawl and Kashmir have given us a lot of confidence, which we will take forward to our next game against Mohun Bagan. They are the league leaders for a reason, so it’s going to be a tough challenge for us”. The first leg of this fixture ended in a 4-2 victory for Churchill Brothers with Willis Plaza scoring twice.

Gaffer Kibu Vicuna likely to make few forced changes in the first 11 due to unavailability of Dhanachandra Singh who received marching orders in the last match. T&T stopper Daneil Cyrus is fit to take his place in the squad after long injury layoff.

The match kick off time is 5 PM IST 22.02.20.
